Interest will continue to accrue during periods of forbearance.
Interest in student loans continues to accumulate during the forbearance periods. When a student’s forbearance ends, the unpaid and accumulated interest is added to the outstanding principal balance.

In the event of the unfortunate death or total/permanent disability of the student borrower, Wells Fargo private student loan forgiveness is available. Wells Fargo Student loan forgiveness is available on the Wells Fargo Student Loan for Parents if the student beneficiary dies or becomes totally and permanently disabled.
Student loan forgiveness is available on the Wells Fargo Private Consolidation loan to the extent. The student borrower on the underlying loans dies or becomes permanently disabled. Student loan forgiveness does not apply in the event of the death or permanent disability of the consigner too.
Individual to Act on Student’s Behalf:
Student borrowers have the option to name someone to act on their behalf in the event of a student’s death before the student loan is paid in full. This person can be anyone the student chooses and would not be responsible for repaying his loan.
Unless the person is a consigner on his loan. The student is not required to name anyone if he/she does not want to. If a student does want to designate someone, now or in the future, contact Wells Fargo Student Loans phone number at 1-866-878-1087.
Wells Fargo Online Bank will need the following information about the person you designate: 1st and last name, postal address, and primary phone number. Wells Fargo Student Loan for Parents borrowers are not eligible for these options.
